Coastal Flats in Downtown Crown has elevated a bit in this area since the closings of two other nearby options. That's not to say that the restaurant isn't good in its own right, but it *is a chain so it's kind of corporate and predictable. The food is good. Better than what you might expect from a restaurant group. They've got a nice sized bar area which is great if you want to sit down, grab a bite, and watch some sports. I do wish that they'd put on the sound for the games, but it's easy enough to follow along. My son and I came in to watch the football game and both got the shrimp roll. Delicious. Give it a try if you haven't had it before.

I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place yet as many times as I've been here. I quite enjoy CF, and I think out of maybe 10 times I've been here, I've only had a "bad" experience once. I typically always order the same thing when I come here, which is the Crispy Calamari appetizer and the warm pecan and goat cheese salad (no tomatoes). The only time I've ever had an issue was two things on the same visit: the calamari came out a bit lukewarm (it's normally HOT and fresh), and my salad came with tomatoes. No big deal on the tomatoes because they're whole grape tomatoes, so I just took them off. However, I did send the calamari back (which I hate to do, and if you know, you know). But it was clearly left out too long because it also took much longer to be expedited to the table. At that point, I didn't want it anymore. Anyway, I also like the location. I think the ambiance is great - I prefer to sit outside typically, but I have sat inside a couple of times. I find the interior to be a bit too loud for my preference, but outside is usually great, especially at the hightop tables. The service is also consistently pretty good in my experience. I don't think I've ever had a negative experience with any of the staff, they are all super friendly and attentive. I will always be back because I really do like the food and the vibes here. Especially if I want to just treat myself to a nice little brunch/lunch situation during a weekday when most other people are working :) The location is also convenient because it's in Downtown Crown, there is a free parking structure, free street parking, and lots of other restaurants and shops as well. The area is also quite walkable, so it's a nice little vibe over there!

Staff were great in accommodating a large party. Hanger steak had a good grilled flavor and enjoyed the crab fritters. They were kind and offered us a free app when they got the sides for our orders wrong.

We stopped by here while our daughter was sleeping and had a drink and the service was amazing. Our serve/bartender was very fast and friendly and we loved the quiet patio setting ( perfect for a toddler nap!).

Went for a Sunday brunch and it was surprisingly amazing! The two dishes I had were very good but the service could have been better. They charged a bread basket that they never brought out. We specifically said we don't want it anymore because the bread didn't come out until we finished our meal. Honestly the vibe and ambiance was amazing and even allowed our dog on the patio. Overall I recommend the restaurant!

Nice scenery and good food. Calamari is cooked nicely, but the sweet sauce is prob better off on the side (viet spring roll sauce type). Fritters is a bit messy to eat, but it is decent. It comes w nice ginger lobster sauce that also goes well w the complimentary fried doughnut. Very tasty and tender. Mahi mahi dish is excellent, highlight of our dinner. Great, friendly, and fast service too.

Good food; good service; good atmosphere. Eat; leave; repeat. Live; love; laugh. Nom; Nom; Nom. Be sure to get the bread basket for $1. It tastes like butter goodness rolled into a ball. Refills are complimentary! And you can make it even more buttery by stuffing butter into the center of the bread ball for a warm gooy butter explosion when you bite into it.

I had a very good experience at Coastal Flats. I passed by this restaurant so many times on my way to dine at the Rio and I'm glad I finally stopped in to give them a try. I love that virtually all of the seating inside is full booth seating. I appreciate this because booth seating is so beneficial to large families with kids. Without a doubt this restaurant is family-friendly in setting and menu. The inside is large and I can't image there can ever be a waiting line to sit down because of this. The kid's $6 cheeseburger and fries meal gives chain fast food restaurant a run for their money considering it is as large if not larger than premium fast food burgers and has the traditional barbecue charred flavor. This will be my go-to in the area for burgers over fast food any day. The following menu items I tried were absolutely delicious: - Blue Crab & Shrimp Fritters - Lobster Bisque - Community Bread Basket - Ozzie Rolls - Tex Mex Eggrolls - Bacon Cheeseburger - Kid's Cheeseburger - Jumbo Lump Crab Cake Sandwich - Sweet Tea (slightly on the too sweet side) - Key Lime Pie To be honest I was a bit skeptical about some of the menu items however the waiter made some really good recommendations and I'm glad he did. The Blue Crab & Shrimp Fritters, Community Bread Basket, and Crab Cake Sandwiches were great recommendations. Our waiter was very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu items, and made our experience a comfortable one. Parking is available on the street and at a nearby free parking garage. Overall this was a really good experience and I'll certainly return when in the area again.

We had a birthday celebration. And this proved a good spot. The ozzie rolls got us off to a good start. Then we enjoyed crab and shrimp fritter's appetizer. I got jambalaya pasta which had great components, but I prefer jambalaya without the pasta, since the dish is rich and heavy. The smoked salmon filet is not to be missed. The outside is seared while the interior is moist. The hickory smoking is intense and delicious. It comes with a Creole mustard sauce for a nice twist. One of us had the hanger steak, liking the flavor but finding it chewy. We also had the goat cheese and spiced pecan salad. Another success. Desert was a key lime pie that gives a tart not too sweet finish. Service was attentive. The restaurant features a festive decor. They are a solid dinner option.
